I Fall for the Forbidden Alpha Review: The Other Twin

Riley Scott's Rejected, Abused, I Fall for the Forbidden Alpha sends the unwanted twin along as her sister's maid. Our spoiler-light intro.

Our I Fall for the Forbidden Alpha review covers the first four chapters of Rejected, Abused, I Fall for the Forbidden Alpha by Riley Scott, published on GoodNovel. It is trending on repost sites under other names; please read it on the official platform.

The long title gives away the arc. The first four chapters give you a heroine you will root for immediately.

The setup

Raven and Marissa Sinclair are fraternal twins who could not look less alike. Marissa is blonde, adored, and has a white wolf, the rarest kind there is. Raven has black hair and green eyes, sleeps in a shelter outside the house, eats leftovers and works as the family's servant. She has stopped trying to make her mother love her.

Alpha Hades of the Blood Moon Pack wants Marissa as a contract bride. He is the most powerful Alpha in the country, rumoured to be ruthless, and he needs an heir. Raven is ordered to go along as Marissa's maid and never to tell anyone they are sisters. To make sure she can't run, her mother has a witch bind them with a mark, so she can always find her.

The road to Blood Moon

On the drive, Marissa slaps Raven for talking back. Then two cars box them in. When the men surround them, the rare white wolf doesn't fight. She shoves her sister toward them and runs into the forest.

Raven fights them off on her own, and very well. When Hades and his warriors arrive, the first thing he asks is whether she is Marissa Sinclair. She tells him she is the maid. A moment later his men bring Marissa out of the woods, sobbing.

What works

  • Hades's point of view. Chapter 4 is his, and he has already noticed the lie: why would a white wolf hide? He hates liars. His wolf, Lucifer, tells him this marriage was a mistake.
  • The house test. Marissa looks at his cabin-style packhouse and asks "Is this it?". Raven calls it something out of a fairytale. Hades hears both.
  • A capable heroine. Raven isn't waiting to be rescued, which makes the romance feel like a meeting of equals.

What to know before you start

The family cruelty is intense, and the book is written for adults. The forbidden part of the title is the obvious one: he is engaged to her sister, so expect a long, tense middle.

Who it's for

Werewolf romance readers who love twin swaps, contract brides, and a hero who can tell gold from glitter.

Our first impression: a classic setup done with confidence, and a heroine with real bite.
