This Two Can Play recap part 7 runs up to around chapter 187, with spoilers. This arc involves manipulation and mature themes. We keep everything general.
Sera's new targets
After the tablet humiliation, Seraphine convinces herself of a new story: Celeste found out first, turned Dominic against her and handed him the evidence. She can't reach Dominic, so she goes after the people around Celeste. Pat, who slapped her. And Felix, Celeste's brother, who had a crush on Sera in college.
Kingsley's 24 hours
Kingsley Duke was planted at Helix to spy on Celeste and win over Pat. Now Sera raises the price. Within twenty-four hours he must get a compromising video of Pat, or she will tell the whole lab he is her spy. She offers him "motivation" with a kiss. He pulls away: "I am not interested in any form of motivation."
The open line
Sera calls Felix in tears from a hotel room she booked under a false name. She tells him an invented horror story in which Celeste is the villain and Sera is in terrible danger. She even makes herself look ill to sell it. Felix is engaged. He hesitates, then stays the night.
Midway through, his fiancée calls. Sera answers the phone without Felix noticing, puts it face up on the nightstand and leaves the line open. The next morning she fakes memory loss, stages a breakdown, and has a doctor who owes her a favour "confirm" a serious illness and treat her with a harmless drip. By the afternoon Felix is in the Helix car park slapping his sister while Sera watches from beside the car, smiling.
The office
Julian takes a different route. After fainting and a night in hospital, he puts on his best suit and forces his way into Dominic's office at Veil Holdings. You've had your payback, he says. End it, or I tell the press you're having an affair with my wife.
Dominic points out that it would only shame Celeste and Julian himself. Then he slides a phone across the desk. It's playing a video of Julian and Sera at a private club. One word against Celeste, Dominic says, and this goes viral, followed by the others. "I will buy off every single important member in your organization… I am a single man now, Julian." Drag Celeste into this, he warns, and Julian will be ruined.
Julian storms out and spends a small fortune on roses. You know how that ends.
Scarlett's assignment
Humiliated twice in one day, Julian goes to the bungalow where the four women are held. Scarlett Vance steps in front of the other three: "Your issue is with me. Leave my friends out of it." Then he makes her an offer: compromise Dominic Ford on camera, bring him the footage, and all four walk free. Scarlett smiles: "I am yet to see a man that can resist my charms." Julian warns her that if she fails, she'll wish he had sent her to prison.
Room 25
Kingsley's chapters are the saddest in the book so far. He hates Sera and he admires Pat, "the kind of woman who made you want to be a better man". But he needs the bonus due next week, and twenty-four hours leaves him no way out.
He invents an investor meeting at the Grand Crest Hotel, then calls Pat pretending something is badly wrong. She gets there in ten minutes and stays with him. It means far more to her than he realised, and when he asks why she came, she says: "Because you needed me." He hates himself. Afterwards she comforts him, and warns him to be careful because people will try to take advantage of him.
The flash drive
In the Helix car park, Sera watches three seconds of the footage and gloats: "You will go places." She drops the flash drive into her bag.
Kingsley snatches it back, stamps it into pieces and picks up every fragment. "I will not let myself become this person… You are a monster." He burns the pieces in the lab incinerator. Then he types a one-line resignation and gives it to Pat, with a warning: "Seraphine is out to get you." As he walks out she begs him to stay. He leaves without the bonus.
What we noticed
- This arc shows Sera's full playbook: tears on the phone, a story nobody can check, a bought witness. Every scheme runs on someone else's decency.
- Kingsley is the first character to choose to lose. That makes him the most interesting new addition since Sparrow.
- Two threats are still live: Sera still has Felix, and Scarlett has been sent after Dominic.

Questions readers ask
Why does Felix slap Celeste?
Seraphine lures him to a hotel with an invented story that Celeste had her hurt, then uses a bribed doctor to make the lie look real. Felix believes her.
Does Kingsley give Seraphine the video of Pat?
No. He hands her the flash drive, then takes it back, smashes it, burns the pieces in the lab incinerator and resigns rather than let her use it.
What does Julian ask Scarlett Vance to do?
He offers freedom for her and the other women he is holding if she compromises Dominic Ford on camera and brings him the footage.
