Two Can Play details you missed in chapters 1–100, with spoilers up to chapter 100.
1. They saw each other first
Both Celeste's and Dominic's chapters return to the same night: a bar, three friends at a table, and a man across the room. Celeste noticed him, and he noticed her. Then Seraphine "called dibs" and walked over. The whole triangle started with one intercepted look.
2. "Best friend since forever"
In chapter 1, Celeste describes Seraphine as her best friend "since forever": the woman who cried at her wedding and called every day to tell her how lucky she was. Rosa Kane keeps coming back to how long this friendship lasted, which is exactly why the betrayal cuts so deep.
3. "My world"
When Julian calls, Dominic sees the contact name on Celeste's phone: My world. It sums up her marriage. Her whole world had been arranged around one man.
4. The tie matched the dress
When Dominic is unveiled as chairman, his tie is exactly the red of the dress he sent Celeste. It was a signal only she could read, sent in front of the whole room.
5. The grant arrived before the signature
The $5 billion lands in Helix's account before Celeste signs anything. Dominic's explanation, "I trust you", is the opposite of how he treats Seraphine, who signed his divorce papers without reading them.
6. The saved voicemail
After the island attack, Celeste listens to Sera's threat, "Stay away from my husband. Otherwise, I will destroy you", and saves it. She tells herself she'll want it later. It's the clearest hint that she's planning further ahead than anyone expects.
7. The redhead's convenient VIP room
Julian never asks why a stranger in a nightclub has instant access to a private VIP room past a velvet rope. By the time he wonders, the video has already been sent. It's a trap built on his own habits, the same carelessness he shows in his affair.
8. Sparrow is "just a business partner"
When Seraphine tracks down the tattooed man from the gala photos, he presents himself as someone Dominic merely "does business with". We already know from Dominic's chapters that he's Dominic's trusted head of security. Whatever Sparrow is arranging for her breakfast meeting, it probably isn't a favour.
What these details set up
Almost every item on this list comes back. The look in the bar becomes the heart of Dominic's confession in chapter 192, when he tells Celeste he felt a connection that night and has regretted Seraphine's interruption ever since. The book isn't consistent about when it happened (chapter 5 says almost three years, chapter 192 almost two), but it never changes who saw whom first.
The matching tie becomes a signature. At the proposal in chapter 336, Dominic's tie, pocket square and cufflinks match the emerald dress Celeste bought that morning. Red for the gala, emerald for the garden: he dresses to her every time it matters.
The redhead's convenient VIP room turns out to be the first move in a much bigger game. Scarlett Vance didn't target Julian by accident. She used him as a road to Sparrow, which we learn in chapter 245.
Sparrow as "just a business partner" is the understatement of the book. His real name is Alexander Ford, and he is Dominic's adopted brother. We explain it in Who is Sparrow?.
Our favourite is "My world". It's a contact name, nothing more, and it tells you how completely Julian had arranged Celeste's life around himself. Every chapter after the rain is about her building a world of her own again.

Questions readers ask
Did Dominic see Celeste before Seraphine?
Yes. Both Celeste's and Dominic's chapters reveal they noticed each other first in a bar, until Seraphine "called dibs" and walked over.
Why did Celeste save Seraphine's voicemail?
The book doesn't say yet. Celeste notes she will probably want it later, which suggests she plans to use it in the finale.
