This Two Can Play recap part 10 covers chapters 225–240, with spoilers. Kept general throughout.
The car park
Pat has been staring at Kingsley's resignation letter for days. Then Seraphine texts her: meet me, or the internet finds out about you and Kingsley.
In the Helix car park Sera tells her the cruellest version of the truth: Kingsley worked for her, and she has the video. (She doesn't. Kingsley destroyed it.) Sera makes Pat kneel on the gravel and slap herself ten times. Then come the demands: burn Helix to the ground, and record Celeste confessing that the $5 billion grant was about the affair. The deadline is 1 p.m. tomorrow.
Pat cries all night. In the morning she does the one thing Sera didn't plan for. She copies the videos from Celeste's phone and posts them anonymously. "I would never burn Helix down. I would never betray Celeste." 1 p.m. comes and goes, and no video of Pat appears.
"It makes you a scared one"
Celeste worked it out from Pat's puffy eyes and the way she kept staring at Celeste's phone. She even left it unlocked on purpose. When Pat breaks down and confesses, Celeste doesn't hesitate: "You released Seraphine's videos to protect yourself. That doesn't make you a bad person. It makes you a scared one." She's ready to tell a judge she did it herself if that's what it takes to protect Pat.
Kingsley's secret
Celeste asks her contact to look into Kingsley, and the file changes everything. He's the son of Arthur Duke, a billionaire ruined by a mistress and his own brother. His father died of a heart attack; his mother, Evelyn, needs a heart transplant costing over $2 million. Some nights Kingsley slept in his car. And Seraphine never paid him a cent.
Celeste drives to the hospital and pays for Evelyn's surgery in full. Kingsley runs after her and falls to his knees: "Why? After everything I did?" "I did not do it for you. I did it for your mother." He confirms he never gave Sera the tape, and she makes him a deal: she'll help him win back his family's fortune, as a loan, on one condition. He makes things right with Pat.
"Sister-in-law"
For that, Celeste needs Sparrow. At a bar with no sign on the door, he refuses her money: "Consider it a gift from me, sister-in-law." He won't explain.
The bridal carry
Outside the bar, reporters surround her. Are you using Dominic Ford as a rebound? Are you even divorced? She freezes.
Dominic walks through the crowd without answering a single question, hugs her, then lifts her into his arms and carries her to his car with every camera flashing. Inside he pretends he "can't breathe" without her. She scolds him, laughing. Then he explains the plan. When his grandmother posted the hospital photos to shame Celeste, his team answered with the photo of the two of them on stage at the Helix grant, and the internet started rooting for them.
Then, quietly: "Will you move in with me?"
What we noticed
- Pat's arc is now the book's clearest story of someone finding her spine.
- Celeste's generosity (the surgery, forgiving Pat) balances her darkest moment in the previous chapters. The book seems to know it.
- "Sister-in-law" is a big clue. We explain it in our Sparrow explainer.

Questions readers ask
Who leaked the Seraphine and Julian videos?
Pat. Seraphine blackmailed her with a video she claimed to have, so Pat copied the files from Celeste's phone and posted them anonymously.
Did Kingsley give Seraphine the video of Pat?
No. He destroyed every copy. Seraphine was bluffing when she threatened Pat.
Why does Sparrow call Celeste "sister-in-law"?
He won't explain yet. The book later reveals that Sparrow is Dominic's adopted brother.
