Greymoor Academy Predictions: 6 Theories After Chapter 273
Will Maisie take the crown, what happens to the dragon, and can the bond be restored? Six theories for the next chapters of Greymoor Academy, built only on clues from the text.

These Greymoor Academy predictions are our own guesses for the chapters after 273, not leaks or spoilers. Every theory is built on clues from the text, with chapter numbers, and we will mark each one right or wrong as the story continues.
Chapter 273 leaves Greymoor Academy at a turning point. The rift is shut, the Queen has lost her crown's favour, Mercer has turned on his mother, and Maisie is paying the price of the power she used. Here are the six questions we cannot stop thinking about.
Theory 1: The crown has already chosen Maisie
The clues: the ruby calls Queen Lysandra a false queen in chapter 163 and says a queen in hiding is coming for her place. In chapter 267 the crown flies from Lysandra's head to Maisie's, resizes itself and says it sees its queen. In chapter 271 it no longer answers Lysandra at all.
Our theory: Maisie becomes the rightful holder of the crown, whether or not she wants it. The question is not if, but what it costs, since her Lycan says the ruby is corrupted and must be destroyed.
Likelihood: high, 80%. What would prove us wrong: the ruby answering Lysandra again.
Theory 2: The bond comes back, differently
The clues: the bond broke on Samhain (chapter 213), but Quinlan has already marked Maisie again (chapter 236), and Jericho tells her that if he takes her, he will mark her (chapter 256). In chapter 273 she feeds from Soren and Quinlan to survive.
Our theory: the bond is restored one mate at a time, and this time it is Maisie's choice. We think the book is building towards a bond that no longer exists only to sacrifice her mates.
Likelihood: medium-high, 65%. What would prove us wrong: Maisie refusing any new marks until the rift is gone for good.
Theory 3: Mercer and Maisie reunite, but not easily
The clues: Mercer hears the truth about the baby in chapter 270 and turns on his mother in chapter 271. He is now held by her guards. He said he and Maisie were done in chapter 252.
Our theory: Mercer escapes or is released, and the reunion is the emotional centre of the next arc, with an apology he owes and one he is owed.
Likelihood: high, 75%. What would prove us wrong: the Queen using Mercer as leverage against Maisie for a long stretch.
Theory 4: Tessa faces a reckoning
The clues: Tessa fled the stadium in chapter 270, and Maisie's Lycan promised to catch up with her. The Queen already sees her as a failure (chapter 233). Soren's deal says he must bond with Tessa only if he cannot prove Maisie innocent.
Our theory: Tessa's role in Samhain comes out publicly, and the Queen abandons her. Whether Maisie ends her story or spares her, we expect Maisie to choose mercy, as she did with the Queen.
Likelihood: medium, 60%. What would prove us wrong: Tessa bonding with Soren.
Theory 5: The dragon is not finished
The clues: Maisie's Lycan brings the dragon down in chapter 269, but the book never says it is gone. It said its brothers and fathers have waited for a crack for ages, and Maisie saw what might have been another dragon beyond the rift (chapter 268). It also knows the name Florian.
Our theory: the dragon survives, captured or hidden, and becomes a source of answers about the keeper line and the other world, perhaps even an uneasy ally.
Likelihood: medium, 55%. What would prove us wrong: a clear statement that it did not survive.
Theory 6: Maisie's name is cleared, and Lyon's too
The clues: Soren is already picking apart the evidence (chapter 226). Juliette knows the letter was forged (chapter 240). Mercer knows about the Munich doctor (chapter 271). And the whole academy watched Maisie save them from the dragon.
Our theory: the next trial hearing turns in Maisie's favour, and the truth about Samhain reaches Jenny, finally giving her back her brother's real story.
Likelihood: medium-high, 70%. What would prove us wrong: Maisie being sentenced for the attack on the Queen at the stadium.
Our read
The book has spent 273 chapters asking whether Maisie will be a sacrifice or a queen. We think the answer is neither: she will be the keeper who refuses to let anyone pay her price. We will update each case as new chapters come out.

Questions readers ask
Are these confirmed spoilers?
No. They are our own theories, based only on clues in chapters 1–273. We will mark each one confirmed or wrong as new chapters come out.
Which theory is most likely?
We think the crown choosing Maisie is the safest bet, followed by Maisie's name being cleared in front of the Council.
When will the theories be updated?
Whenever new chapters are published. Each case will be marked CONFIRMED, WRONG or STILL OPEN, with the chapter number.
