Pursuing My Rejected Luna ending explained: this article covers the final arc and the epilogues, chapters 193–226, and how the ending answers the questions the first chapter asks. Full spoilers.
Who does Skye end up with?
Both men, in different ways. Nicolai Woolf is her husband and her second-chance mate: the bond formed in chapter 154, after Jaxon cut the old one, and they exchanged mating bites in chapter 162. At the reception a brand-new bond snapped into place with Jaxon. After the rescue, in chapter 212, Jaxon finally marks her, Nicolai renews his mark, and Skye marks both of them. The epilogues show a household of five: Skye, two men, Benji and Mila.
Why did the bond with Jaxon come back?
The book gives no mechanical answer, and that is deliberate. Dimitri's line is that the universe has opinions. The difference matters more than the cause. The first bond happened to Jaxon at a party, and he spent three years treating it as a trap. The second bond appears only after he has rejected the first one himself, to set Skye free. He describes it as something he arrived at rather than something that happened to him. The book's argument is that a bond means nothing unless the person holding it has changed.
The person is the point
At eight months pregnant Skye realises the bond was never the point; the person is. The ending tests that idea. Nicolai is chosen before any bond exists, and the bond only catches up later. Jaxon has the bond twice, and only the version of him who earned it gets to keep it. The old fated-mate rule, that the bond decides everything, is replaced by choice.
What is a Consort Alpha?
An old pack title Nicolai has Dimitri dig out of the historical records. It gives a wolf with Alpha status formal standing in another pack's governance, not as a subordinate and not as co-Alpha, but alongside. It matters legally: without it, Jaxon would have no rights to Benji in Woolf territory if anything happened. Jaxon gives up Ironwood to Noah, is inducted publicly in chapter 219, and runs the family's eastern intelligence network and security work. He expected to feel diminished and finds purpose instead.
What happens to the villains?
Petyr Savin, the eastern Alpha behind the plot, is left alive on purpose: Nicolai decides a quiet death would cause investigations, and that watching twelve years of planning become irrelevant is worse. Dmitry Volkov loses his trade routes, his allies and his credit. Tatiana loses the social standing she used. The packs that refused to help are given new terms or cut loose. The message to anyone watching is that the arrangement they called a weakness is two Alpha networks working together.
What happens to Cassandra and Noah?
Cassandra's story ends in chapter 118: her paternity test was fake, she pointed the dangers from Dalton's case at Skye, and she ignored her real fated mate, Noah, to chase an Alpha. She is banished, and Liam goes to his father, Jarrett Mays. Noah rejects the bond, takes over Ironwood, and by the last epilogue is quietly unwell from it. That sets up the sequel, Bound To My Unworthy Luna, which begins in the same listing at chapter 227. Its early chapters suggest a condition called Rejected Mate Syndrome is making Noah ill.
Is the ending earned?
Mostly, yes. The book spends a hundred chapters on Jaxon showing up: night feeds, a west wing, rules he keeps, a bond he cuts for her sake. Nicolai's acceptance is just as gradual, with Dimitri pushing him toward honesty at every step. The thriller turn near the end is abrupt and darker than anything before it, but it does one useful thing: it shows two rivals acting as one family when it matters.
Readers who wanted a single love story may feel the last arc changes the book they started. Readers who followed Skye's growth will see the point: the woman who spent three years waiting to be chosen ends the book doing the choosing.
Final scene
The last epilogue closes on five of them on one bed in the evening light, and then turns to Noah, telling himself the ache is manageable. It is a gentle ending for Skye and an open door for the next book.
