Pursuing My Rejected Luna Recap Part 2: The Divorce

Nicolai's visit, the pregnancy revealed at fourteen weeks, Jaxon's confession and the petition before the elders. Everything that happens in chapters 40–80.

This Pursuing My Rejected Luna recap part 2 covers chapters 40–80: from Nicolai Woolf's first dinner at Ironwood to Skye's move home to Greenwood River. Spoilers through chapter 80.

Previously, in Part 1: Liam's arrival, the blizzard, and a letter to Wolfy.

Chapters 40–51: A visitor who sees everything

At the welcome dinner Nicolai says aloud what nobody in Ironwood will: Skye is being made to house the mother of her husband's child while he pretends it is acceptable. Skye defuses it, but the point lands. Jaxon gives Nicolai a tour of the pack lands as a challenge, and Nicolai tells him plainly that Skye deserved better than what she got. Noah agrees: Woolf looks at Skye the way Jaxon should have.

In the rose garden Skye tells Nicolai everything except the baby. Before he leaves he gives her a card with his number: memorise it, burn it, and call him day or night. Skye opens a private account in her maiden name, Skye Winters. Jaxon learns she went to Woolf for Dalton and calls himself her husband. She calls herself his obligation.

Grandma Rose warns Jaxon that Skye is planning to leave and asks whether he loves her. He doesn't know. Skye spends three days at Diana's, where her father, Alpha Marco Winters of Greenwood River, agrees to give her sanctuary and support the divorce. She comes back to find Jaxon at the hospital with Cassandra, whose collapse was most likely a panic attack. Jaxon moves Cassandra and Liam to the guest house and tells Skye he wants to fight for them. It is too late, she says.

Chapters 52–65: Fourteen weeks

Jaxon forces Skye to a training session, where she is made to demonstrate an escape hold and faints. In chapter 52 Dr Lukas tells her she is fourteen, almost fifteen, weeks pregnant. Jaxon overhears. Skye tells him the truth: this baby is not his heir, because he already named Liam.

The pack congratulates a humiliated Jaxon. Noah tells him pack law doesn't allow an Alpha to hold a pregnant mate against her will. Cassandra suggests raising their children together, and Jaxon finally glimpses her calculation. In the rose garden Skye tells Nicolai about the baby, and he offers to be there in six hours. When Jaxon accuses her of planning to take his child, she answers that he left her in a storm with that child already inside her.

Jaxon checks her phone and threatens a custody fight. Then, alone at a family cabin, he understands what he has been doing. In chapter 63 he confesses: he punished her for taking away his control at the Shifting Party. For the first time he actually asks whether she slipped him something to force the bond. She didn't: their wolves took over, and the only difference is that she thought he wanted her. He kneels and asks for a chance. Her terms: no monitoring, Cassandra off pack land, and if she still wants to leave, a civil divorce with shared custody. She agrees, partly to know she tried and partly as proof for any hearing.

Chapters 66–72: The summit

Jaxon's courtship misses. He brings a diamond bracelet she never wears and roses whose scent makes her sick, which he never noticed. At the Silvercrest summit, at sixteen weeks, he tells her he is falling in love with her. Her answer: he is three years too late.

Nicolai handles Woolf business at the summit with quiet threats, then finds Skye on a night terrace and tells her that people see her. Jaxon storms in and accuses them both. Skye's reply is the turning point: Nicolai was being a friend, something Jaxon has never been. She asks for a divorce. He says no. She reminds him that pack law allows one without his agreement if the bond is irreparably damaged.

Chapters 73–80: The petition

Skye calls her father, Diana and pack-law lawyer Gianna Romano, gathers witnesses including Cole and Everett and the guards from the storm, and files a formal petition before Elders Patricia, Graham and Vincent. Gianna lays out three years of neglect, the storm and Cassandra in the home, then asks one question: who supplied Liam's paternity test? Cassandra did.

Skye testifies that faithfulness is not only physical. Her father offers the Greenwood River Pack to her and the baby. Cassandra hints that the baby might be Nicolai's, and Jaxon throws her out of his office. He finally sees the pattern of Liam's emergencies, expels Cassandra and Liam from pack territory and demands a proper paternity test.

In chapter 78 the council grants the divorce: the bond is irreparably damaged by Jaxon's bad faith. Jaxon admits to Noah that he loves her and that it is too late. Skye moves home to Greenwood River and starts helping Diana with Luna duties.

Key takeaways

  • The divorce is won with evidence, witnesses and pack law, not with a dramatic rescue.
  • The paternity question raised in chapter 74 pays off in Part 3.
  • Jaxon's confession explains him without excusing him.
